BACKGROUND
Valdis Krebs is a management consultant and the creator of InFlow, software for social network analysis. He is also the founder of orgnet.com, a website dedicated to social network analysis. As a consultant, the focus of his research varies, though it is most always aimed at organizational structure and behavior.
The survey example he provides below is a project he was commissioned to initiate in 1991 to examine declining morale and productivity in a key department of an organization. This is an interesting example of the application of social network analysis outside of a purely academic environment, a trend becoming more common.
